Fearless Women Day

Fearless Women Day

August 26, 2010

What is Fearless Women Day?

On August 26, 2010 women will gather around the US and Canada in celebration of their fearless journey. On this day, 90 years ago, the 19th amendment was ratified to give women the right to vote. Events will happen simultaneously in a wave of fearless celebration. We will honor women who fearlessly blazed the trail before us and women who are creating major change in the world now. Each city participating will vote for, select and honor one fearless woman who has contributed to their community and the world by awarding them with a “Fearless Women, Susan B. Anthony” award.

Creating Your Own Fearless Women Day!

The Fearless Woman Selection Process:

• Advertise through email blasts, social media and word of mouth about the Fearless Women Day.

• Announce the “Fearless Women Susan B. Anthony” award nomination and a call for nominations.

• Voters will go to www.fearlesswomenday.com to nominate their candidate. Each person that goes to the website to nominate a woman who they think should win the award will write a short description about that women and why they should be the fearless woman of your community.

• On the fearlesswomenday.com website, there will be a page for each city participating. You will send people to the website to vote. They will click on their city and nominate the woman of their choice.

• You may want to narrow down to the top 5 women and invite them to your event and the winner can be announced at the Fearless Women Day event. The women runner up's can get honorable mention and can be honored with a “Fearless” necklace that can be purchased ($39.95) at Mary Ann Halpin Studio.

• The day or night of each event the selected women will be honored with a sword engraved “Fearless Woman” on it. The swords ($175.00) may be purchased through Mary Ann Halpin Studio 323-874-8500 or maryannhalpin@aol.com. We have discounted both these items so you can give them as amazing awards. If you want to give something else, it's up to you!

• You should attempt to secure sponsors to cover the cost of the awards and/or give your “Fearless Woman” winner a cash prize for their project or non- profit that they may have. Perhaps you can also get some businesses in the area to give her gift certificates.

Our Mission with Fearless Women Day:

In honor of the women who came before us in Fearless contribution and trail blazing, August 26th will be an annual celebration throughout the U.S. and Canada. On this date in 1920, the 19th amendment was ratified to give women the right to vote. Each year this day will be celebrated to inspire women all over the world to honor themselves and each other as “Fearless Women”, to nominate and honor one woman in their community as an extraordinary “Fearless Woman”. This woman is a symbol and a reflection for all of us to remind every woman that we can live to our full potential, fear less and live more. We want women to step forward in celebration of the Fearless Women that they are!

Join the revolution…The time is now! What's your fearless?

Fearlessly Yours,
